Darts Shooting Stance
There are a few different types of stances that most dart players use when standing at the throwing line. Most players stand with their dominate side forward. If you are throwing darts right handed, you should also have your right foot in front at the throw line.
Distribution of Your Weight
Regardless of the stance you choose, your weight should be distributed in favor of your foot closest to the dartboard. Do what is comfortable without leaning, but most players typically describe their front foot as holding about 75% of their weight. Your back foot should only hold enough weight to maintain your posture and ensure you aren't compromising your balance.
Leaning
Some players prefer to lean into the board, which will help them get slightly closer to the board. This can give them an advantage but if you lean too far forward it can throw off your balance. If you test different amounts of leaning forward you will get a feel for what gives you the best balance without feeling like it is impacting your aim in a negative way.
